At our small fashion brand, every design is a labour of love. Our latest creation, the Shelby paperbag shorts, was no exception. We started designing them in November and went through countless iterations until they were perfect. Our team consists of me (the designer), one seamstress (Alberto), and a pattern maker (Beverley). The production process involves hours of driving back and forth for fittings, paying everyone a fair wage for their time, and investing hundreds of hours to bring the design to life.

 

Because they took far longer than anticipated to perfect, we will only be releasing them in ONE COLOUR so we are able to ship them out to you ASAP. This beautiful brown with a hint of mauve in it:

We are proud to say that these paperbag shorts are 100% eco-friendly and made from lyocell, an alternative to silk. The fabric was carefully selected from a Canadian supplier, and the details, such as the deep pockets and flowy design with beautiful cuffs, make them truly unique. Our shorts feature a 2” elastic waistband that is not stiff, so there is no digging in, and a cute paperbag waist with flattering gathers.

Because we are a local brand, we can produce these shorts at our factory in Edmonton and have them ready for you next week! However, we need to sell at least 30 pairs to produce them. Due to the expensive materials and the time it takes to produce them (4 hours per pair), they should retail for $300. However, we understand that this price is not accessible to everyone. Therefore, we are offering them for the least expensive price we can without losing money.
